JOB TITLE: FINANCE AND ACCOUNT MANAGER
LOCATION: ILUPEJU LAGOS

JOB SUMMARY
The Finance and Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial health of the company by managing all accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, and internal controls. This role will support strategic decision-making through insightful financial analysis while ensuring that the organization remains compliant with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Management & Strategy
• Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure effective financial management.
• Support strategic planning and decision-making with financial insights and forecasts.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and presentations for management.
2. Accounting Operations
• Oversee general ledger accounting and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Manage accounts payable, receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, and tax filings.
• Ensure timely closing of books at month-end and year-end.
3. Budgeting and Forecasting
• Lead the annual budgeting process and prepare periodic forecasts.
• Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
• Collaborate with department heads to ensure alignment with financial goals.
4. Compliance and Audit
• Ensure compliance with local tax laws, regulatory requirements, and international accounting standards (e.g., IFRS).
• Coordinate internal and external audits; prepare audit schedules and address audit findings.
• Oversee statutory filings such as VAT, WHT, PAYE, pension, and corporate tax.
5. Cash Flow and Treasury Management
• Manage cash flow to ensure the availability of funds for operations.
• Monitor bank balances, investments, and debt obligations.
• Optimize working capital and manage relationships with financial institutions.
6. Team Leadership and Development
• Supervise and mentor the finance and accounting team.
• Set clear goals and KPIs, conduct performance reviews, and facilitate continuous development.
• Foster a culture of accuracy, accountability, and integrity within the team.
7. Financial Systems & Tools
• Manage and improve financial systems, software, and processes for efficiency and accuracy.
• Lead automation of manual processes and integration of financial tools with other departments.
Requirements
Education & Certifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree or MBA is an advantage).
• Must be a qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent).
Experience
• Minimum of 6–8 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Experience in the technology or service industry is a plus.
Skills and Competencies
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, regulatory compliance, and accounting standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar ERP systems.
• Strong analytical, budgeting, and forecasting skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
