*About the Role:*
We are seeking a results-driven Business Development Officer to join our marine operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying growth opportunities, managing client relationships, and ensuring our operations align with international maritime standards.
*Key Responsibilities:*
· Identify and secure new business opportunities in vessel management, chartering, and maritime logistics.
· Lead negotiations for charters and service contracts while ensuring profitable pricing and cost control.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with global and local stakeholders, ensuring high levels of service delivery.
· Ensure all business activities align with IMO standards (SOLAS, MARPOL) and local maritime regulations.
· Utilize data and maritime software to track market trends, prepare financial reports, and provide strategic growth recommendations.
*Requirements & Competencies:*
· Must have a degree in Maritime Studies, Business Administration, or a related field.
· Minimum of 2 years of experience with a solid understanding of port operations, shipping, and supply chain management.
· Proven ability to negotiate contracts and manage risks effectively.
· Comfortable with budgeting, financial analysis, and using Microsoft Excel for data-driven decision-making.
· Ability to solve problems under pressure (e.g., vessel delays or mechanical issues) and manage projects efficiently.
· Excellent report writing and presentation skills with the ability to navigate cross-cultural business environments.
